Oats Payasam or commonly known as kheer is a delicious and creamy Indian pudding that is rich and smooth with beautiful texture coming from bite of oats. The Mango puree deepens the taste quotient of the payasam or kheer.
In a pan, take some ghee add the oats and dry roast it until fragrant.
Add the milk until the oats is cooked and starts thickening and becomes creamy about 12-15 mins. Keep stirring in between so that the oats doesn't stick to the bottom.
Add sugar to it. And heat for 2 more mins until the sugar melts and everything combines together.
Switch off the gas. Crush the cardamom pods to make a powder and add this to the oats and mix.
