Instructions
Start by preheating the oven to 180°C and also butter and line the base of a 13x7 inch baking tray and set aside.
In a mixing bowl, sieve together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
Add sugar and mix again.
Top it with milk, oil, lemon juice and baking soda. Combine to form a cake batter and transfer to the prepared pan. Smoothen the top.
Bake in the preheated oven of 180°C for 15 mins. Once baked allow it to cool for 3 mins in the pan itself and then ivert it on a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled cut it into 8 portions depending upon the size of the tub you are going to use.
Further cut each slice horizontally from the middle to get a total of 16 pieces.
Start adding chocolate cake slice to the base of the tub. Moisten it with sugar syrup.
Add a layer of frosting on top.
For oreo buttercream tub cake I added few crushed pieces of oreos and for peanut butter chocolate cake I added few crushed pieces of peanut butter. Kept the other two simple.
Top it with a cake layer and frosting layer. Smoothen the frosting on top keeping the edge of the tub as a guide.
Add decorations on top if you like or leave as it is.
Your tub cake is ready to be served.

Notes
Your choice of chocolate cake or frosting can be used to make this tub cake recipe.
Consider making sheet cakes instead of square or round cakes to make the most out of the cake layers.
Instead of proper cake slices, you can also use cake scraps to make these tub cakes.
I recommend soaking the cake layers with simple sugar syrup to keep them moist for days to come.
A very Beginner Friendly Cake as you need not worry about smoothening the cake layers, simply run a spatula using the edge of the tub as a guide to smoothen the frosting on top.
Adding the frosting to a piping bag and then using it would help you get even layers and also would be less messy.
If you do not wish to make everything from scratch, then you can consider using a box mix, or store-bought cake and frosting.
