Serve it warm for garlic dip fans, or as a savory spread on toast, sandwiches, or wraps.
Ingredients

- 1 block (200g) softened cream cheese
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sour cream or thick curd
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (or processed cheese)
- 4–5 cloves garlic, minced or roasted
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh parsley or coriander, chopped (for garnish)
Ingredient Notes
- Parmesan cheese: You can use processed cheese if Parmesan isn’t available.
- Sour cream: Can be substituted with thick yogurt or hung curd.
- Garlic: If you don’t have fresh garlic, 1–1½ teaspoons of garlic powder works well. Add it directly to the cream cheese mixture.
Step by Step Instructions

Start by melting butter in a small pan over low heat. Add the garlic and sauté it until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden (image 1). This step infuses the butter with garlic flavor, which will be the star of your dip. Let it cool slightly before adding it to the creamy base.
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

Mix in the rest of the ingredients, along with seasonings, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Stir everything together until fully combined, creating a rich, flavorful cheesy dip that’s ready to go into the oven (images 2 and 3).

Pour the cooled garlic butter over the mixture and gently fold it in (image 4).
Move the mixture into an oven-safe dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 22-25 mins until the dip is hot and bubbly, letting the cheeses melt perfectly together (image 5).

For the last 2–3 minutes, switch your oven to broil to achieve a golden brown top with gooey cheese. This gives the dip a lightly golden, crispy top that looks as good as it tastes.
Once baked, sprinkle with fresh herbs for color and freshness. Serve warm with crusty bread, fresh baguette, or pita chips, and enjoy this creamy appetizer.

Best Tips
- I usually use roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter flavor, but if you prefer a stronger punch, you can skip roasting and add it raw. Just make sure to mince it finely so it blends well.
- Beating the cream cheese first ensures a smooth, creamy base. If it’s too cold, the dip can be lumpy, so always bring it to room temperature before mixing.
- The dip is at its best when served hot from the oven — the cheese is melty, the garlic swirls are flavorful, and the top has a light golden crust.
- Serve it with fresh baguette slices, crusty bread, pita chips, or even warm naan, or pair with colorful veggies like carrots, bell peppers, or cherry tomatoes for a fun contrast.
Make-Ahead:
You can assemble the dip in your baking dish a few hours ahead and refrigerate. Before baking, let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes so it heats evenly.
Storage:
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. The dip will firm up when chilled — that’s normal.
Reheating:
Gently warm the dip in the microwave or on the stovetop, stirring occasionally. Add a splash of milk or cream if it seems too thick. Avoid baking again, as the texture may change.
Leftover Ideas:
Use leftover dip in sandwiches, wraps, or toast. Stir it into pasta, roasted veggies, or grain bowls for an extra creamy boost. You can also pulse it in a blender or food processor for a smoother spread if you want to use it as a dip for chips or crackers later.
