Whether you’re trying this chocolate chip cheesecake dip recipe or exploring other sweet dips for parties, it’s the kind of dessert that brings everyone together — dipping, chatting, and turning a simple treat into the highlight of the evening.
Ingredients

- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (60 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ cup All-purpose flour
- ¾ cup mini chocolate chips
- 2–3 tbsp milk or cream (optional, to adjust texture)
- Unsalted Butter: Use softened butter for a smooth, fluffy base. Unsalted gives you better control over the overall sweetness and saltiness
- Cream Cheese: Softened cream cheese adds richness and a hint of tang, making the dip taste like a chocolate chip cheesecake dip.
- All-Purpose Flour: Lightly toast the flour before using (for safety and flavor).
- Mini Chocolate Chips: Mini chips distribute more evenly, making every bite chocolatey. You can use milk, dark, or semi-sweet chips as per your preference.
- Milk or Cream (optional): Add just enough to loosen the texture if the dip feels too thick. Use cream for extra richness or milk for a lighter consistency.
Step by Step Instructions
Measure ingredients and set them out. If your butter isn’t soft, cut it into small pieces so they come to room temperature faster.
Spread the all-purpose flour on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for about 1 minute, stirring halfway through. Let it cool completely before using. (This step makes the flour safe to eat in this no-bake dip.)

In a large serving bowl or using a stand mixer (or electric hand mixer), beat the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. If using a hand mixer, this takes ~2–3 minutes (images 1 and 2).

Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is smooth and fully combined — no lumps (images 3 and 4).

Stir in the ¼ teaspoon salt so the sweetness balances nicely.
Sieve the cooled, heat-treated flour directly over the butter–cream cheese mixture. Add it a little at a time and mix on low speed until just incorporated. The mixture should resemble soft cookie dough — thick yet scoopable (image 5).
If the dip feels too stiff, add 1 tablespoon of milk or cream at a time (up to 1-2 tbsp total) until you reach your desired spreadable/scoopable consistency.. (image 6).

Fold in the mini chocolate chips so they are evenly distributed throughout the dip (image 7).
You can serve immediately (for a softer, fluffier dip) or chill for 20–30 minutes to firm it up. If chilled, let sit at room temperature a few minutes before serving so it’s easy to scoop.

Spoon into a pretty bowl, smooth the top, and sprinkle a few extra mini chocolate chips on top. Serve with fresh fruit, pretzels, crackers, graham crackers, or cake slices for a fun dessert board.
Best Tips
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4–5 days. Bring to room temperature or gently stir before serving for best texture.
- For a crowd, place the dip in the center of a serving bowl and surround it with your favorite fruit, cookies, or crackers. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, movie nights, or any next party.
- Heating the flour makes it safe to eat raw and adds a light, nutty flavor that enhances the cookie-dough taste.
- Make sure your butter and cream cheese are softened before mixing. This ensures a smooth, creamy dip without lumps.
- Try swapping vanilla extract for almond extract or adding a pinch of cinnamon or instant coffee powder for extra flavor. Mini M&M’s, crushed Oreos, or chopped nuts also make great add-ins.
- Though this recipe looks similar to chocolate chip cookie dough dip, the ingredients are slightly different. The texture is lighter and fluffier, more like a dessert dip than an edible cookie dough.
